DOMAINS
From the BeNimble Portal, under the STORE tab, click on STORE SETTINGS to open the drop down and click on OVERVIEW.
The forth tab is DOMAINS.
1. ADDING YOUR OWN DOMAIN
This tab will not be used if you purchase your domain directly through BeNimble.
CAUTION: Unexpected behaviour can occur if you use third-party proxies. BeNimble is not responsible for any loss of information.
First, you need to add point your desired domain url to BeNimble's cluster IP address as can be seen on the page.
You need to set up your existing domain to point to BeNimble. If you've purchased your domain through a third party, then you need to edit the following DNS settings: Your A record should point to BeNimble's CLUSTER IP address reflected.
Editing these domain settings might have an effect on other things, such as email forwarding. You can contact your domain provider to find out how any changes might affect your DNS settings.
NOTE: You can only have one A record associated with your primary domain. If your domain is already associated with an A record when you edit your DNS settings to point your A record to BeNimble's IP address, then remove the old A record.
It might take up to 48 hours for your custom domain to point to your BeNimble store. If you have problems or need help setting your third-party domain, you can reach out to your provider.
What to tell your third-party provider
Your third-party domain provider is familiar with the terms related to domains. When you call your provider for support, you can tell them that:
You want your root domain (your A record) to point to BeNimble's CLUSTER IP address.
WHERE CAN I FIND MY IP ADDRESS?
On the page you will see a field called "CLUSTER IP" with an ip address. Copy this address and provide it to your domain registrar.
2. ADD NEW URL TO BENIMBLE STORE
Once you have completed the step above and your chosen URL A records is pointing to BeNimble's Cluster IP address., you can add it to your store. Enter the chosen URL in domain name field.
Please note that if your domain is not pointing to the Cluster IP you will not be able to link the domain to your store. When entering the URL and clicking on the Add New URL Referral button, an error message will be displayed with the details.
3. BINDINGS / SSL CERTIFICATES AND URL’s CHECKED
In the background, on our servers, we will create bindings, SSL certificates and confirm the URL is working. Don’t worry - we don't need anything else from you to complete these processes.
NOTE: This can only take place once your A record points to BeNimble's CLUSTER IP address.
Once all three processes have been completed and they say ‘YES’, your website will be live on your chosen domain name.
Please note that linking of your domain to your BeNimble store can only be done on active subscriptions.
