Use CSV import to add new products in bulk.

Prepare the CSV

  1. Go to Products > Import / Export.
  2. Open IMPORT NEW CSV or HOW TO IMPORT.
  3. Download the example CSV provided there.
  4. Prepare your new products using that example's column order.

Keep the header row. Do not add, remove or reorder columns: the importer reads them by position.

Use P for a product row and V for a variant row in LineType. A variant row uses the same Handle as its product. Follow the on-screen guide for the required fields.

Save as comma-delimited CSV, not an Excel workbook. The stated maximum is 5MB.

Queue the import

  1. On IMPORT NEW CSV, select your file.
  2. Check the selected filename.
  3. Click IMPORT PRODUCTS.
  4. Wait for processing before queuing another import or export.

Only one import or export can be queued at a time. Completion is emailed, and LAST 10 IMPORTS links to the row-by-row result.

Check the outcome

Review the import results and open the new products under Products > Overview. Check their images, prices, variants and publication status.

Imports add new products. They do not update existing products. Do not re-import an export to apply changes to existing items. Use Products > Bulk Update, Inventory or individual product editing for those changes.
