Archiving removes an item from the active product list and storefront while keeping its record available for restoration.
Before archiving
The individual archive action rejects products with nonzero stock. For a variant product, every active variant must also have zero stock.
Check your physical inventory first. If you need to adjust or write off stock, do so through Inventory with an appropriate movement reason. Do not clear stock merely to hide a product: use RETRACT for that.
Archive the item
- Go to Products > Overview.
- Open the product.
- Confirm the product and active variant quantities are zero.
- Click ARCHIVE STOCK ITEM.
- Follow any confirmation shown.
The archive action saves directly and clears its published and featured status.
Restore later
Go to Products > Archived Products, search for it, click VIEW, then RESTORE PRODUCT.
Restoration sets stock to zero and does not automatically publish or feature the item.
