This article explains how customers use gift card vouchers when shopping on your store.

How Customers Redeem a Gift Card

  1. The customer selects their products and proceeds to checkout
  2. At checkout, there is a field to enter a gift card code
  3. The customer enters their unique voucher code
  4. The gift card value is deducted from the order total
  5. If the order total exceeds the gift card value, the customer pays the remaining balance using another payment method
  6. If the gift card value exceeds the order total, the remaining balance stays on the gift card for future use

Gift Card Terms

  • Gift cards are valid for 36 months after purchase (as required by South African law)
  • Gift cards can be used for multiple purchases until the balance is depleted
  • Gift card codes are unique and single-use per transaction
  • Disabled gift cards that were already purchased remain valid

Customers can check their gift card balance by contacting you or using the balance check feature if enabled on your store.
