Overview
The Payment Options section allows you to configure how customers pay for orders placed on your BeNimble store. You can enable one or multiple payment methods, giving customers the flexibility to choose the option that works best for them during checkout.
Accessing Payment Options
To manage your payment methods:
- Log in to your BeNimble dashboard.
- In the left-hand menu, navigate to Store Settings.
- Click Payment Options.
This page displays all available payment methods and their current status.
Available Payment Methods
BeNimble supports the following payment options:
- EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)
- PayFast
- Paystack
- Yoco
- SnapScan
- PayJustNow
Each payment method displays one of the following statuses:
- Active – Available to customers during checkout.
- Not Active – Not currently available to customers.
You can activate as many payment methods as you would like.
Setting Up EFT Payments
EFT is the default payment method available on BeNimble. When enabled, your banking details are displayed to customers after they place an order, allowing them to make payment directly into your account.
Configuring EFT
- Click Edit on the EFT payment card.
- Complete the EFT payment form.
The following details are required:
- Bank Name
- Branch Code
- Account Number
- Account Type (for example, Cheque or Savings)
- Account Name
- Payment Reference Prepend
Payment Reference Prepend
The Payment Reference Prepend is combined with the order number to generate a unique reference for each order. For example: SHOP-12345. This makes it easier to identify incoming EFT payments.
Activating EFT
Once your banking details have been entered:
- Click Save Details.
- Click Activate EFT.
The EFT payment method will immediately become available to customers and its status will change to Active.
Setting Up Online Payment Gateways
BeNimble supports several trusted payment providers that allow customers to pay online using cards, mobile wallets, QR codes, and other supported payment methods.
Before activating any of these payment methods, you will need an active merchant account with the relevant provider. In most cases, the information required by BeNimble can be found in the provider's merchant dashboard after your account has been approved and verified.
PayFast
PayFast is one of South Africa's most popular online payment gateways and supports payment methods such as credit and debit cards, Instant EFT, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Scan to Pay.
To connect PayFast, you will typically need your Merchant ID, Merchant Key, and Passphrase (if enabled). To locate your credentials:
- Log in to your PayFast merchant account.
- Navigate to Account → Personal Information.
- Your Merchant ID and Merchant Key will be displayed once your account has been verified.
If you cannot locate your credentials, contact PayFast support through their support centre or merchant dashboard.
Paystack
Paystack allows businesses to accept online payments through cards and other supported digital payment methods.
To connect Paystack, you will typically need your Public Key and Secret Key. To locate your credentials:
- Log in to your Paystack Dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings → API Keys & Webhooks.
- Copy your live API credentials.
Only account owners and administrators can view or regenerate API keys. If you cannot access your API credentials, contact Paystack support through your merchant dashboard.
Yoco
Yoco allows merchants to accept online card payments through its payment gateway platform.
To connect Yoco, you will typically need your Public Key and Secret Key. To locate your credentials:
- Log in to your Yoco Business Portal.
- Navigate to Online Payments → Payment Gateway.
- Locate your API credentials.
Yoco provides both test and live credentials. Ensure you use your live credentials when activating payments on your live store. If you cannot locate your credentials, contact Yoco support through the Yoco Help Centre.
SnapScan
SnapScan allows customers to complete payments using QR code technology and mobile wallet functionality.
The credentials required may vary depending on your SnapScan merchant setup. To obtain the required information:
- Register for a SnapScan merchant account.
- Complete the verification and onboarding process.
- Access the SnapScan Merchant Portal.
- Obtain the merchant details provided during setup.
If you are unsure which information is required by BeNimble, contact SnapScan support and request your ecommerce integration credentials.
PayJustNow
PayJustNow is a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solution that allows customers to split purchases into instalments while merchants receive payment according to PayJustNow's settlement process.
The credentials required will be supplied once your merchant account has been approved and activated. To obtain the required information:
- Apply for a PayJustNow merchant account.
- Complete the onboarding process.
- Access the merchant portal once approved.
- Retrieve the merchant details supplied by PayJustNow.
If you are unsure which information is required, contact the PayJustNow merchant support team for assistance with account setup and integration.
Activating a Payment Gateway
To activate any supported payment gateway:
- Navigate to Store Settings → Payment Options.
- Locate the payment provider you wish to activate.
- Click Edit.
- Enter the required credentials supplied by the payment provider.
- Save your changes.
- Activate the payment method.
Once activated, the payment method status will change to Active.
Managing Payment Methods
You can return to Store Settings → Payment Options at any time to update payment details, activate or deactivate a payment method, or add additional payment options.

Changes take effect immediately once saved.
Tips
Keep the following in mind when configuring your payment methods.
Offering multiple payment methods can improve checkout conversion by allowing customers to pay using their preferred payment option.
Most payment providers require business verification before live payments can be processed.
Always use live credentials when activating payments on your live store.
If you cannot locate the required information, the fastest solution is usually to contact the payment provider's support team and request the credentials required for ecommerce integration.
After activating a payment method, place a test order to ensure payments are processing correctly.
