This feature assigns an existing discount code for automatic use by eligible first-time buyers. It does not create a separate discount.

Set it up

  1. Create the discount under Discounts > Add Discount if it does not already exist.
  2. Go to Discounts > Overview.
  3. Open FIRST TIME BUYER DISCOUNT.
  4. Select the existing code from Assign Discount Code.
  5. Click Assign Discount Code.

The page shows the currently assigned code.

How eligibility works

Checkout checks the email address entered by the shopper against previous completed baskets. An eligible shopper can receive the assigned discount without typing its code.

The assigned code must still pass its normal validity checks. An expired, inactive or exhausted discount will not apply. The automatic discount does not replace another discount already applied to the basket.

Remove the assignment

Select No Discount Option and click Assign Discount Code. This removes the automatic first-time-buyer assignment.
