Overview

BeNimble can write your product descriptions for you. Instead of staring at an empty box, you give the AI a short brief — the product name, what it is, its key features — and it writes the description.

There are two AI buttons on the product description:

  • Write with AI — writes a new description from scratch. Costs 1 Nimble.
  • Rewrite with AI — reworks a description you already have. Costs 2 Nimbles.

You will find them directly above the description editor when you open a product.

Writing a New Description

  1. Go to Products > Overview in the left menu
  2. Click the product you want to work on
  3. Click Write with AI above the description editor
  4. Fill in the brief:
  • Product name — filled in for you from the product title
  • What type of product is it? — for example, "Running shoe"
  • Key features / attributes — for example, "lightweight, breathable mesh, carbon plate"
  • Category — for example, "Footwear"
  • Price — filled in for you from the product price
  • Brand voice — pick a style, or write your own
  1. Click Generate — costs 1 Nimble
  2. Read the result, then click Use this description
  3. Click SAVE on the product

Choosing a brand voice

Six preset styles are available:

  • Energetic & Confident
  • Friendly & Approachable
  • Professional & Trustworthy
  • Luxurious & Premium
  • Fun & Playful
  • Bold & Edgy

If none of them fit, click Write my own… and describe the style in your own words, up to 60 characters. Something like "calm and technical, for engineers" works well.

The more specific your key features, the better the description. "Waterproof, 20L capacity, padded laptop sleeve" gives the AI far more to work with than "good quality bag".

Rewriting an Existing Description

Rewrite with AI only appears once your product already has a description. If you do not see the button, write a description first — either yourself or with Write with AI.

  1. Open a product that already has a description
  2. Click Rewrite with AI
  3. Check the Current description preview to confirm you are reworking the right text
  4. In How should we rewrite it?, describe what you want changed
  5. Optionally set Translate From and To if you also want the description in another language
  6. Click Rewrite — costs 2 Nimbles
  7. Click Use this description, then SAVE

Describing the rewrite

You have 150 characters to explain what you want. Useful instructions include:

  • "More professional and concise"
  • "Friendly and fun, aimed at parents"
  • "Highlight the eco-friendly materials"
  • "Punchy and energetic, keep it under 60 words"

Translating while you rewrite

The optional Translate dropdowns cover all 11 South African official languages. Set both to translate the description as part of the rewrite, or leave them on Don't translate to keep the original language.

Rewrite is the fastest way to produce a second-language version of a description. Set From to English and To to Afrikaans, and you get a rewritten Afrikaans description in one step.

Things to Know

Nothing saves until you click SAVE

Clicking Use this description puts the text into the editor. It does not save the product. If you navigate away without clicking SAVE, the description is not kept on the product.

If this happens, the generated text is still in AI Assistant > Replay, free to retrieve.

Regenerating costs again

Clicking Regenerate runs a completely fresh generation and charges the full cost again — 1 Nimble for Write, 2 for Rewrite.

The button locks while it is working

Once you click Generate, the button locks until the result comes back. This is deliberate — it stops a second click from spending Nimbles twice on the same request.

Formatting is kept simple

AI descriptions come back with basic formatting only: paragraphs, bold, italics, line breaks and bulleted or numbered lists. Colours, fonts and custom styling are removed so descriptions display consistently across your store.

Always read before you publish

AI can get details wrong, especially specifications, measurements and materials. Read every description and correct anything that does not match the real product before you publish it.
